IBBY-Yamada 2011: Mexico
Language stimulation and books for babies
In a workshop conducted over five mornings, pregnant women were trained to make cloth books for their babies. At the same time the mothers were introduced to the need to stimulate their babies and children, through talking and reading with them. This included discussing popular forms of poetry such as riddles, lullabies, tongue twisters, jingles and songs. The workshop was hosted by IBBY Mexico together with Fondacion Dar y Amar.
