IBBY-Yamada 2011: IBBY Internaional

The first African Regional meeting was held in August 2011 in Polokwane, in northern South Africa with the theme of “ The travelling of stories: children’s literature and reading in and of Africa”.  The IBBY-Yamada Fund was used to support participants who would not otherwise have been able to attend. In total, there were 85 participants, from 23 countries, including Congo, Rwanda, Ghana, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Seychelles, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Tunisia, Nigeria, Cameroon as well as South Africa.
